Harold R. Collard, M.D.
Harold R. Collard, M.D. is assistant clinical professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), coordinator of the UCSF Interstitial Lung Disease Program, and acting director of clinical services for the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Collard received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his medical degree from Duke University. He completed his internship, residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at UCSF, and his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado. Prior to joining the faculty at UCSF, he was a member of the Interstitial Lung Disease Program at National Jewish Medical and Research Center.
Dr. Collard's clinical and research focus is the care of patients with interstitial lung disease. Dr. Collard regularly sees patients with interstitial lung disease as part of the UCSF Interstitial Lung Disease Center of Excellence. Dr. Collard's research interests focus on questions surrounding the management of patients with interstitial lung disease, including how best to diagnose and treat these conditions and what a diagnosis of interstitial lung disease means for patients' quality of life and survival.
