Primary Objectives of the CPF Research Fund
The primary objectives of the Fund are to:- Create endowment to support the ongoing funding of research and professional education activities of the CPF through a Grant Award Program
- Directly fund emerging IPF research utilizing a peer-review application process through the CPF's nationally recognized Scientific Advisory Board.
- Establish and fund a fellowship/young investigators program to encourage and foster ongoing interest in IPF research and patient care in the physician community
- Create ongoing professional education materials to improve diagnosis and treatment standards of care for IPF patients within the medical community
- Ensure that every clinically appropriate research hypothesis is given the opportunity to be tested for potential efficacy in IPF, thereby broadening the pipeline of opportunity for new therapies to be identified.
- Serve as a conduit between the private sector and the research community to create increased funding opportunities for IPF-related research
